Enough with the quick fix employee engagement activities

We’ve all gotten the email announcing the fun new program that’s going to boost employee engagement and make everyone love working here. Social hour, ping pong table, speaker series… Sure, they’re fun at first and management may see improvements to the employee engagement metrics they were hoping to boost, but within a few months the programs fade from view and engagement scores return to what they were previously.

In his recent article, Why the Millions We Spend on Employee Engagement Buy Us So Little, Jacob Morgan discusses the three environments cited by employees as most important to deepening engagement: cultural, technical and physical. Companies that invested in these areas rather than in quick fixes experienced gains in profitability, employee satisfaction and recruiting.

We designed Everyone Onboard to help create a better cultural environment in a way that is easy to deploy long-term and deepens employee engagement by multiplying connections across your organization. An ongoing program that introduces employees who wouldn’t necessarily meet each other in the course of their daily work, Everyone Onboard sends each employee an invitation for coffee once a month, providing opportunities to find mentors, new opportunities and personal connections, face to face.
